A MONSTER CALLS by Patrick Ness

I wonder why I haven’t read this book because I think it’s just amazing. It’s dark, gripping and beautiful … This book is just sad but all throughout its sadness are tragic lessons that makes us believe that humans are complicated and weak beings driven by circumstances …there’s always a reason that comes between rightness and wrongness…

When Conor’s nightmares began, a monster came out walking and calls out to tell him three tales and the fourth one would be his and it will be the truth…

Isn’t it fascinating to read stories within a story? it tells us that that an evil heart doesn’t deserve injustice just because a good man believes it; Beliefs are nothing if you tend to sacrifice it; and being invisible is sometimes better than to be seen …. Humans always see differently and sometimes  what we think and see are not always what they seem …This story is about loss and letting go, of forgiveness and speaking the truth …

“Stories are important, the monster said. They can be more important than anything. If they carry the truth.”

This book’s idea was originally from the late Siobhan Dowd and Patrick Ness was asked to continue it. I couldn’t thank him enough for giving her idea a voice. This book is worth the read, I highly recommend it.

“Stories don’t end with the writers, however many started the race.”
